The redevelopment of Ladopoulos Papermills proposes a new housing model that transforms the plot to a modern and sustainable housing block. The principles of well-being defined the design, making the user the core element of this intervention. The proposal is a new model of social housing – a new neighborhood, which combines housing with other urban uses of social activity. The aim of the proposal is to enable new ways of well-being and suggest new ways of living and coexisting. The area will be transformed into an urban forest that will attract visitors and permanent residents. The design of the new housing block was designed in levels to separate private (ground and top level) and semi-public from public uses (intermediate levels). The form and volume of the new buildings follow the industrial lines of the maintaining buildings, creating an interesting dialogue between old and new.
